The Foundation Mans Website

Welcome to my site. I would like to talk about how I can help you deal with Foundation Issues, and believe me there are many.

The first thing we need to  understand...Is what is meant by foundation damage?

Most people only have a vague idea of what foundation damage really is. In fact, when they see doors not closing, cracks in sheet rock, hard floor covering or bricks they think their home is falling down. That is usually not true.

The truth is, unless you have experienced a severe earthquake, or have lost a large amount of soil due to a sink hole or erosion, you are probable experiencing cosmetic foundation movement and not structural foundation damage.

Most of the biggest and best known foundation companies do good work as far as pier installation and honoring their warranties. The problems that I see every day from consumers are untrained and unethical sales personnel.

  1. Foundation repair company sales personal are just that, commissioned sales personnel. Their livelihood depends on selling piers. The more piers they sell the better they live. With piers selling from $300 to $1000 +, each, a few extra, unneeded piers can be quite profitable to them and expensive to you.

Far more than half of all foundation damage in North Texas, and other areas of expansive soil, are the result of upheaval. Piers are not the answer to upheaval and foundation repair failure due to upheaval is not warrantied.

Piers cannot prevent or reverse upheaval which is a major cause of foundation problems and the major cause foundation repair failure.

Since piers cannot prevent or reverse upheaval, upheaval is not covered in major foundation repair companies’ warranties. It cannot be legitimately covered under warranty because piers cannot hold the structure down. A highly convenient  out for foundation repair companies.

Without the original elevations, based on sea level, of a structure, AND a benchmark based on sea level elevations, foundation repair contractors, salesmen, engineers nor anybody else can determine if the structure has settled or heaved based on the reading of a level.  That means that the elevations taken by most foundation companies are not valid for determining pier placement. They are a scam and I can show you why.

Remember, most foundation companies sell piers, I provide solutions.
